BABETTE MOTIERRE
pond, too old, all of it
APPERANCE . Though she may feel like a woman, and have the knowledge and experience that come with living three hundred years she does not look a day of it. Babette has kept the appearance of a ten year old Breton girl for three centuries. Vampirism does keep one fresh. As such, she is smaller than most of the other assassins, short and thin. Thankfully her strength is enhanced by her status as a vampire, despite her small size. Her hair is long and brown falling in waves around her shoulders. She usually keeps a portion of it pinned back and away from her face, so that it does not get in the way. When out on kills or feeding she will keep it tied up. Blood is much harder to wash out of hair than one might think. Her eyes are a bright glowing red as many vampires are. Out side of that she is difficult to distinguish from a normal child. Her fair Breton skin helps hide her vampiric pallor. She usually wears child's clothes, preferring them to any armor as they allow her to blend in better. STORY . Babette Motierre was born in 3E 316, the first daughter of a noble lord Northpoint. During her first ten years her parents had three other children two boys Alaric and Edmond, and a second daughter named Cosette. She was brought up to be a proper noble lady. Her mother was a skilled alchemist and began to teach her children the craft at a very young age. Babette never particularly liked alchemy, but she did like the garden where they gathered ingredients. As a child she could never resist trying some of the ingredients, even the ones she knew would make her sick. She was a very curious child, always questioning everything. She was also a little rebellious, disobeying her parents more often than not. Such was the case the spring of her tenth year. She and her brother Edmond had snuck out of the house after dark to catch torch bugs. Just outside of their home, the town guards were chasing a vampire. The vampire pushed her brother into the path of the guards, one of whom swung his sword in an attempt to hit the vampire, and hit Edmond instead. The vampire then bit Babette, attempting to restore some of his life from the child's before continuing to flee the guards. None of them stopped to check on the little girl, assuming both she and her brother were dead. But Babette was not dead. She was, however, terrified that her parents would hate her for sneaking out and getting her brother killed. So, she hid for days. In retrospect, if she'd gone back to her parents they probably could have cured the disease before it took over her. But she was only a child, and she was scared. So, she became an immortal child, trapped forever in the body of a ten year old girl. Her first kill was a city guard who found her as she tried to sneak back in to her family home. She did not mean to, but she was hungry and could not control herself. The moment her parents saw her, they knew what had happened to their daughter. Even then vampirism was highly frowned upon. Her father wanted to kill her right away, but her mother protested, begging that they try everything else before that. So they kept her locked in their house, attempting to starve the vampirism out of her. She was forced potions and priests of all divines and princes were brought to attempt to cure her. But nothing could be done for her. So her mother consented to her father's original plan. But Babette was starving, and her father underestimated the girl's vampire strength. She over powered him and fed from him, killing him in the process. She spared her mother, because her mother had done everything to save her. She could not stay there. So ten year old Babette grew up very quickly. She left her family home, staying far away from her family, for the most part. Occasionally, she would check up on them, to make sure they were doing well. She saw her nieces and nephews playing in the yard, then their children. As her family grew and began to spread across Tamriel, Babette decided it was time for her to leave High Rock as well. She traveled a bit, always under cover of night, with whatever traveling group would have her. Her youth always played to her advantage. No one suspected a child of being a vampire. If asked about her red eyes, she would claim her father was a Bosmer and her mother a Breton. She paid for passage by using the Alchemy her mother had taught her. Selling potions became her main source of income. She traveled through Valenwood, then spent some time in Hammerfell. She spent a bit of time hiding out in Black Marsh, before settling in Cyrodiil. It was in 3E 417 that she was found outside the Dark Brotherhood's Sanctuary in Cheydinhal by Vincente Valtieri. Perhaps because he long for some more stable company than the mortal assassins who had a nasty habit of dying, he brought her into the Dark Brotherhood. She was happy there with an older vampire mentor. He taught her how to be a proper assassin. She found she had a knack for it personally. Once again her youth always came to her advantage. Babette became one of the loyal followers of the Night Mother and of Sithis. She would have laid down her life if either of her unholy patrons had demanded it. Not that Vincente would let her. He never gave her jobs that she might have a challenge with. She stayed with Vincente for almost sixteen years. When members of the Dark Brotherhood began to get killed off, possibly by traitor, he suggested she take up a position in Skryim. A wise decision on his part, and the entire Cheydinhal sanctuary was killed not too long after. The Falkreath Sanctuary was her home from then on. One by one they heard of other Dark Brotherhood Sanctuaries falling. There was no longer a black hand, a listener, or a speaker. She heard rumors that the keeper was still protecting the night mother, but over the years her authority was replaced by whomever was the current leader of the Sanctuary as far as Babette was concerned. No word from their mistress lead her to believe that the Night Mother had abandoned the scattered remnants of the Dark Brotherhood. But there were still people to be killed, and Babette had known no other home for two hundred years. So she stayed, seeing leader be replaced by leader. Until Astrid took over. Babette was very fond of Astrid, and when she inevitably dies, Babette will mourn her more than she had some of her predecessors. Despite her duties in the Botherhood keeping her busy, Babette takes a bit every so often to check up on the members of her family. She likes to keep track of them. It makes her feel tied to the mortal world, rather than existing outside of it. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,border-radius: 0px 0px 20px 20px;] Character Name. Babette Motierre Age. 381 Race.
