CHARLOTTE BOW-HEART
cake, nineteen, 7+ years
Personality Stubborn-- Charlotte unfortunately never knows when to back down from an argument, even if it means she'll end up brawling with someone in the Companions. It's her way, or nothing. She doesn't care what other people think, and if she's got an opinion on something, she will hammer it home until someone turns around and smacks her in the face. Driven-- Charlotte knows what she wants and will work hard to get it. She's worked hard her whole life, from being brought up on a farm by her mother and uncle to finally joining the Companions. She'll stop at (almost) nothing to get what she wants, and she knows in the end she will get it, no matter what. Shy-- Even though she's driven, sometimes Charlotte doesn't do well around others. It's not that she doesn't like people, sometimes she just locks up and doesn't want to talk. Whilst this has proven difficult before, Charlotte is working to get over it, because she despises how shy she can be. Distant-- Being an archer, Charlotte prefers to hunt alone, be alone. Of course, being in the Companions often prevents this unless she goes out hunting without a shield brother or sister. At dinner, she will also often be quite quiet and not talk to others, simply wishing to listen to the day's conversations. Competitive-- Oh, so you're a better archer than Charlotte? She'd like to see that. If she finds someone who claims to be better than her, she'll see that as a challenge. She wants to be the best she can be, and will fight others to prove it. Humourless-- Charlotte doesn't understand jokes. If someone were to tell a joke, she would simply frown and furrow her brows. Whilst she does tell her own jokes, most of the time they are terribly unfunny, which usually leads to her embarrassment as no one laughs. Matter-of-fact-- Charlotte prefers getting straight to the point. She's not at all flowery and if you're going to tell her seomthing, she'd rather you tell her it straight off and not try to avoid the point. This also means she doesn't really lie often, nor will she try and say "Oh sorry so and so has died", she'll just flat out say it. Brave-- Charlotte is brave, that much is shown by the amount of fights she's gotten herself into. She doesn't back down, and whilst this can be considered brave, it could also be considered stupid, which she is a bit of both. History Birth-- Charlotte Bow-Heart was born to two Bretons who had left their home of High Rock many years prior and met in Whiterun. They owned a farm in the plains, not very productive, but they produced enough to make a little bit of money. Charlotte was out on the farm the moment she was born; tucked away in her mother's sash. Her mother was called Elsae, and her father, Arnaud. Whilst they hadn't fallen in love the normal way, they had wed after Arnaud saw Elsae's Amulet of Mara, like most in Skyrim. Charlotte was born almost immediately afterwards. Infancy-- Charlotte barely left her mother's side. Elsae was a hunter and a farmer, and had once been an explorer. She had an Ancient Nord Bow she and a friend had plundered from a Draugr infested cave. Elsae took Charlotte out as often as possible, so her baby could get fresh air. She even started to teach Charlotte how to handle a bow from the moment she could walk. Whilst the young Charlotte thought this game was great, her mother knew these skills would one day come in handy for her. Childhood-- Her bow training continued as she became a child, but she spent less time with her mother and more time helping her father and uncle, Louis, on the farm. Whilst Charlotte loved her family and the farm they lived in, she would often sneak off to go to Whiterun to see all the different kinds of people. There were hunters and fighters and guards and warriors, and she knew one day, she wouldn't be a simple farmer. She wanted something more. She was eight when she ran into the Companions returning from a 'mission' of sorts, hastily apologising and scurrying into an alleyway to hide. She watched them, and knew, that was what she wanted to be. One day, she would be one of them, and nobody would stop her. Adolescence-- Of course, when she had told her father, he had screamed at her and told her that being the only child, she would inherit the farm. Charlotte cursed at her father and told him she hated him. She grabbed her mother's bow and ran off into the plains with it, staying there for a good three days. When she returned, she was bedraggled and badly injured. Her mother then taught her restoration magic, so she could heal herself without using potions. When Charlotte confided in Elsae, saying she didn't want to be a farmer, she wanted to be a Companion, Elsae told her to go for it. She knew she and Arnaud would live for a while, at least until Charlotte herself had children. And there was her uncle, who was still to have his own children. So instead of staying at home and helping with the farm, every day, Charlotte went out, hunting. She brought home more money that her father ever had with the venison, the antlers and the hides. Once or twice she even brought home wolf hide, and hung them on her wall, proud of herself. Adulthood-- This trend of going out to hunt and bringing home the spoils continued into Charlotte's adulthood. She managed to scrape enough money together to buy proper armour, a shield and a mace to protect herself if a wolf or a bandit got too close. She often sought out trouble to get the bounty for it. She was enjoying life, and had almost forgotten about the Companions until a wolf killed her father on their farmland and a pack killed their only cow. Charlotte was enraged, and whilst she went to kill them, she found the carcass of the cow and the wolves dead. Knowing the revenge had been stolen from her, she went to the Jarl to demand who had been sent to kill the wolves. Then she was told the Companions. She went to them, demanding an explanation and she was told alone, she would have been killed too, despite the fact she could have killed some of the wolves from far away, they had a taste for human blood, and son would have overwhelmed her. Charlotte, still annoyed, knew that the Companions were right. She spent a few months calming down, before she went back to them to join them when she was twenty-four. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,border-radius: 0px 0px 20px 20px;] Character Name. Charlotte Bow-Heart Age. 27 Race. Breton Sexuality. Heterosexual Faction, Army, or Allegiance. Companions Occupation. Archer for hire Werewolf or Vampire. N/A Major Skills. Archery; Charlotte was trained by her mother from a young age how to shoot. The bow is her best weapon, and though she's not the best in the companions, she can shoot a stag from far away with relative ease Restoration Magic; Being a Breton gives Charlotte a natural gift when it comes to magic. Because she's known to be clumsy and get herself into fights, she uses restoration magic very often, mostly on herself, but has used it on others before. One Handed; If push comes to shove, and someone she's fighting gets too close her and she can't use her bow, she switches to a mace, and uses a shield too. She prefers the heaviest kind of one handed weapon because she can get a better swing behind it. Block; Charlotte is a blocker in close combat. She'll utilise and use her shield to attack and defend herself. It is her favoured method of close combat. Heavy Armour; Though majorly an archer, Charlotte prefers heavy armour. It both protects against other arrows better, and means she can more easily defend herself if and when someone gets too close. Destruction Magic; Again, being a Breton, Charlotte is better at magic. If she is unable to reach for her mace and shield during close combat, she will turn to flames or ice magic in order to defend herself. Weapons, Armor, and Belongings.
