In the year 2186, a human soldier by the name of Shepard makes the ultimate sacrifice during the height of the Reaper War. The Crucible was activated and the Reapers were eliminated. Peace had returned to a Galaxy that only knew strife and conflict.
But that peace is about to be broken.
The year is 2196, ten years after the victory over the Reapers, whispers of terrorism is ever growing within the borders of New Council Space - the systems that was once formerly known as Earth Systems Alliance Space. Lies from politicians keep the public at bay, the black market is thriving on the same system that existed prior to the war, and bands of pirates continue to raid colonies that are too far from Council Space. Mercenary groups are becoming the norm in the Attican Traverse and Old Council Space, attacking ships and colonies.
Local authorities are having trouble dealing with the problems while entire armies are still nursing the wounds of the Reaper War. It seemed at long last, the Galaxy would return to the old ways before the war.
In response to this growing trend of violence and chaos, the Council creates the Coalition of Council Worlds; a all military organization intended to keep the peace within Council Space and the rest of the Galaxy.
Not all sits well with some within the Galactic community, others calling it downright fascism. One group sees an opportunity to exploit this fear and bring order from chaos. The public only knows them as a cult of personality surrounding the Reapers, their ideas, beliefs proves to be too controversial for the public to see the light. For the public to understand, they must bring order into a galaxy riddled with chaos. The council calls them a religion gone mad.
But they call themselves—
