ZOJJA OF N'GASTA
Kent, 22, 3 and a half
Personality Though having grown up in considerably lavish circumstances, Zojja has never shown any particular signs of developing a sense of self-importance that some of her sisters or other women of her station have developed. In fact, she proves to be anything but the typical whiny, spoiled brat that might be produced from a youth born in wealth. She's independently minded, having been caught in the shuffle of having two sisters as she grew up. Zojja has developed a reserved craftiness. She's the type to accept something at face value, but go and do the exact opposite simply because she believes she has the better idea. However, she's not particularly prone to lying, having quite a solid moral code. What she's good at is avoiding conflict and avoiding making a fuss of herself, silkily sliding under the radar. She will seem agreeable, but be planning twenty other things in the back of her mind. And when approached about the wide gap between her assumed agreement and actual actions, she'll simply react innocently and brush it off. Her father's skills as adviser and politician can clearly be seen in her. More personally, she can be quite a hard one to read. None can ever truly decide what she's thinking, making her, perhaps, hard to trust. She herself isn't totally trusting either. That doesn't mean she won't be at least partially friendly and reacts to most situations with grace, but again, she can be rather lightly spoken. She's also prone to some extended periods of alone time where she's quite skilled at entertaining herself with various activities, as she's naturally curious about world knowledge, magic, and other similar activities. She can also have subtly mischievous bouts, though she's more than capable of keeping a straight face as she does so. All in all, she's quite diplomatic - probably why she's neither too high nor too low on the idea of gaining fast friends. She does like to enjoy company sometimes, though, so one should expect her, once she learns to trust them, to be quite an enjoyable friend. History Born on the isle of N'Gasta, a part of the island of Stros M'Kai off the coast of Hammerfell, Zojja and her mother barely survived the storm that caught them on their return trip to the Hammerfell mainland. Since she was seemingly unperturbed by the storm, Zojja, even as a baby, received the name "Zojja of N'Gasta" to commemorate her birth and survival. The daughter of a man in line to become the Chancellor of Hammerfell - essentially, the chief adviser of the Redguard king - Zojja enjoyed a prosperous youth. She enjoyed the company of two older sisters, and while jealousy can play into such dynamics, the three sisters tended to get along well enough in their youth, all receiving tutelage in the Hammerfell city of Sentinel in various areas and spending some great deal of time together. All in all, the initial years of her youth were uneventful, save for her experience as a baby. Their teenage years brought more worry, especially thanks to Zojja's oldest sister. Due to promiscuous behavior with a smuggler in Sentinel that nearly saw her killed, the sister was essentially cast out of the family (she could return to them regularly, but was not allowed to live with them or attend ceremonies with them again) and Zojja and her other sister became put under surveillance to make sure they didn't make the same mistake as their sister. Zojja quickly grew tired of hearing the lectures and dealing with the guards tasked with watching over her while she wandered the streets of Sentinel, and she became quite good at avoiding conflict and avoiding the guards by leading them astray. Once both parents caught on, they sent her to some additional schooling away from her tutors, but Zojja did not adjust well to this setting and ended up returning home soon after. Instead, her father brought her to the palace most days once he took over as Chancellor, and she experienced the details of Redguard politics. But life became stale, with her parents so overly cautious about the lives of their daughters and Zojja feeling as if she had stalled in Sentinel. Her sister, who had become married to a wealthy merchant and become rather successful herself, offered Zojja a chance to join her in business. Zojja did not agree to fully leave the family in favor of becoming a business partner, but she did decide to craftily sneak away for a time from her parents by joining one of the ships, on its way to Skyrim. Zojja enjoyed the trip so much that, after she'd returned home and decided she was ready to join with her sister, she joined the merchant business and decided to again return on a ship to Skyrim, captained by a different man - a khajiit. Zojja found a much different greeting once arriving in Skyrim - slavers attempting to take her and the other female members of the crew. Zojja spend some time in an almost completely darkened cave, dealing with constant fear, before managing to escape. She does not, however, know where to go. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,border-radius: 0px 0px 20px 20px;] Character Name. Zojja Age. 23 Race. Redguard Sexuality. Heterosexual Faction, Army, or Allegiance. None; recently, the Forebear faction of Hammerfell Occupation. None; the daughter of the Chancellor of Hammerfell Werewolf or Vampire. N/A Major Skills. +Speech: The daughter of a smooth-speaking Chancellor of Hammerfell, Zojja obviously has the genes to make her a gifted speaker and has the training as well in etiquette. She's a skilled negotiator and an admittedly good trickster, too, able to convince other people to listen to her. She's sometimes soft-spoken, but that's only liable to make people listen to her more closely when she does say something, which plays into her hands. +Restoration: Having dabbled in some schooling in magic in her teenage years, Zojja did learn a touch of restoration magic. While she's far from a healer, she did find herself interesting in learning to ward, as most children and family members of important figures in Redguard society have to learn some skill to be able to defend themselves properly. She learned to defend herself, alright, by literally creating pretty decent magical shields that she can call on fairly easily. +Alteration: Really little more than a hobby of hers, the school of alteration only affords her utility skills that she's enjoyed utilizing in her life - candle and magelight spells as well as some telekinesis. Obviously, the light spells obviously have some use to her, but telekinesis she tends to use loosely and with no real purpose. Weapons, Armor, and Belongings. +Steel Dagger of Immobilizing: The only weapon Zojja has ever really carried, it's little more than a security blanket against anyone who wants to bother her and who wishes to end up paralyzed for a handful of seconds. She carries it well-concealed at her thigh, as do most Redguard women of her station. |
