CAPTAIN WESLEY MORREL
Taiya, almost 19 mayne, nearly 5
HISTORY Wesley grew up in a life that he hated. His father was a business man, owning a large shop that did well in the Imperial City. He made plenty of money doing so, and so their family was well off. The firstborn son of a family with many children, it was always him that was pushed into taking over the family business one day. To him, nothing could be a worse punishment. As soon as he could remember, he hated the idyllic lifestyle that they had. He hated rules especially. Through no fault of his parents, he became somewhat of a terror. Wesley would get himself in trouble and lie to attempt to get out of it. Though he got away with plenty, he also got caught more times than one could count. Much to the detriment of his parents pride and reputation. His father held a strict grip on the young man in an attempt to keep him on the straight and narrow. Unfortunately, that served the opposite purpose. Instead of calming his wild tendencies down, they exploded and Wesley became more and more insolent and disrespectful of the rules that seemed to be pushed down his throat from every angle. And though he had the mind for book keeping and owning a business, he loathed the thought of doing so. Instead, his heart tugged him toward the sea. Every possible minute of the days growing up, Wesley would go down to the sea and dream of the place beyond. The rules just got more and more tight, as if attempting to squeeze the life out of him. Wesley felt as if it were choking him. One night before his father was going to push learning the business on him, he fled. Wesley stowed away on a ship that was leaving port. Because he knew they would return him to his father and mother back in Imperial City, Wesley was careful to stay hidden, remaining so for some time. That went perfectly fine until the attack. Wesley had heard of pirates, but he'd never seen them until the attacked the trade ship he was on. Though he wanted to help, Wesley was firmly rooted in the spot, terrified of the scene that he witnessed. That didn't last long. A pirate found him and dragged him to the Captain that led the attack. Wesley somehow managed to impress the Captain. Perhaps it was his insolence, or his arrogance that did so, but whatever the reason was, the older man took a shine to the young lad that they had captured. And listened to the kid's plea to remain on the ship. He became a pirate at the tender age of fifteen. At first he simply took care of the ship, but over time that grew. Most liked the snarky kid, as far as pirates could like someone, and looked out for him. They taught him plenty of things he would need to survive, such as how to use a blade, to navigate a ship, weather changes, his fists, and from one man, he learned the ability of magic, quite proficiently in fact. By the time he was nineteen, Wesley was as knowledgeable as the Captain himself, who he looked up to much like a father and who treated him the way a father should a son. That same Captain, who had set him free in life, was how he became a Captain himself. The man had gotten rich, powerful, and after some time, desired to really live with the wife that had remained loyal to him for so many years even despite not seeing him often. It was no mistake that he had been shaped so well, molded so much over the past seven years. The Captain before him was an older gentleman by that time, and while he was still as rugged as ever, everyone wants to settle themselves eventually. But every ship needs a Captain, and so, seeing potential in Wesley, he had trained him until he was good enough to become the next captain. To 'retire', this captain gave Wesley his ship and position as its Captain. Many from the old crew left with the Captain, desiring to be able to live with the money they had gotten over the years. And so Wesley rebuilt his crew and sailed off as Captain of his own pirate ship. Over the next five years Wesley has made quite a name for himself. Some friends, most became enemies. Perhaps the only man Wesley has ever really respected was the Captain that had taken him in, and will still dock occasionally to visit he and his wife. In ten years, Wesley has obtained everything he's ever wanted. Mostly though, he's free. PERSONALITY Roguish - He's often dishonest in his practices, as one would expect of a pirate. If it's in his own interest to tell the truth, he'll tell the truth. If it's in his own interest to lie, he lies. Basically in the honesty department, whatever will advance himself is the way to go. Along with this, Wesley likes to embellish the truth to make himself seem bigger and badder than he is. Mischievous - Wesley has always enjoyed a good prank. Often he can get into trouble because he's too focused on this being mischievous than actually accomplishing anything really worthwhile. All in all, he simply loves causing trouble for others. And while he does do some in harmless fun, that's strictly held for only his crew members, or 'friends'. Self-Serving - As one would expect, Wesley isn't much on helping others out at his own expense. Generally he steers clear of things. After all, why spend any sort of effort on something that won't give anything back? Mad Genius - Wesley borders on genius and madness. Often, as he states, the two go hand in hand. He's an intelligent man and often comes up with new ideas when it comes to new situations. He can generally adapt to almost anything. Unfortunately, many of his ideas that he comes up with can border on that madness, where you have to wonder if he actually planned on something happening, or if luck is just on his side. You also have to wonder if he's an idiot or a genius - or just plain crazy. Undisciplined/Insolent - Rules? The only set of rules that Wesley follows is his own. While he does have some morals - in that he is generally a gentleman as women go - he has no desire to follow the rules set by anyone else. He had too many rules as a child, and now loves the life where he makes all of the rules. Rules were made to be broken anyway. Arrogant/cheeky - Wesley is extremely full of himself. He likes to project himself as an amazing person, and generally does just that. He has an exaggerated sense of his own importance, and is extremely proud of what he's made himself into. Because of his own abilities and lifestyle, he often has a lack of respect for others, at least men. Spontaneous/Unpredictable - Wesley thrives on spontaneity. To be perfectly honest, one reason he became a pirate and sails the seas is because he dislikes the order that the land goers deal with. He hates that routine and pattern, and would much rather live life not knowing what the next day will bring. One reason he's done so well with himself is that he follows absolutely no pattern in his life. He shows up here and there, and never does what's expected. He's extremely unpredictable, and does whatever it is that he feels like doing, whether that be diving off a building or pulling some stunt that could kill him. Adventerous - Wesley lives for adventure. The best times in life have been sailing the seas and seeing new and foreign places. He would like to see every part of the planet that they reside on, and is generally up to trying anything new. Trouble Maker - His life as a pirate has definitely been crazy., Because of his lifestyle and personality, Wesley can get himself into a lot of trouble, and does on what seems to be like a daily basis. He's made plenty of enemies in his short life, more than he can count actually, and is often fleeing from authority that would like to put him in the stocks. Often he's found himself in bad situations that seem like it would be impossible to get out of. Just as often he recites the words. "Remember this as the day you almost caught, Captain Wesley Morel." (I love PotC too much, yes he's modeled after Jack Sparrow XD) His cunning really does help in these situations, since he would rather kill himself in some odd plight to escape, than to face prison. Sly/Cunning/Witty - Wesley often relies more on intelligence, agility, and quick wit to protect himself, rather than physical strength. He frequently outmaneuvers enemies with his words. However when he does fight, and he doesn't hesitate, he does make a formidable opponent. Mean - Despite his other roughish qualities towards those that he is comfortable around, to say that Wesley doesn't have a mean side is far from correct. If it serves him well to be mean, he's mean, and to those that he needs something from or has no use for, he can be rather heartless. No one becomes a Pirate Captain without killing some people, and he can have a rather dark, cold, and downright mean side if pushed to that point. When he gives a command, he expects it to be followed through with without question. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,border-radius: 0px 0px 20px 20px;] Character Name. That's Captain Wesley Morrel Age. 27 Race. Imperial Sexuality. Is there anything other than girls when you're a Pirate Captain? Didn't think so Faction, Army, or Allegiance. Pirate Occupation. Pirate Captain Werewolf or Vampire. Nope Major Skills.
Weapons, Armor, and Belongings. Glass sword of Flames - This normal one handed glass sword was merged with a greater soul rock to produce a sword that spurts out flames whenever it's stricken against something. Glass Dagger - Just a normal dagger that Wesley keeps on his person at all times, shoved in a small sheath on his belt. Whenever he loses his sword - which can be quite often - he has to resort to fighting with this or his fists. Thankfully, he's good with the use of both. Glass Bow - Every pirate needs a bow. After all, you can't always jump ship to kill something. So he carries a bow along with him as well, for when he needs to use it. The Night Rambler - Wesley is extremely attached to the ship he has obtained. Despite it's size, the ship was finely crafted and thus is smooth and fast, perfect for evading the larger and heavier merchant ships. Perhaps this ship is the only thing Wesley has ever really loved. Corio - Aboard the Rambler, is a certain monkey like creature that was obtained during one of their raids, a stowaway that none of the crew wanted to cast overboard, and has become somewhat like the ship's pet. He's been named after another captain that Wesley has no lost love over - one last insult to the man. |
