ALEIA SNOW-PROUD
Taiya, 19, 5 years
HISTORY - The youngest of a wealthy family from Solitude, for the early years of her life Aleia was spoiled by her father as is typical for a daughter, indulged perhaps, while her mother had strict rules and tried to train her up as harsh as she was in terms of being a lady. From a young age she attempted to rebel against that mentality, and as soon as she could walk she trailed after her three older brothers to imitate them and do everything they did, which included 'sword fights' with sticks, playing strategy with war toys, wrestling, and different things like this. Despite her slight build, she exercised her teeth, claws, and anything else she could use to win. Needless to say, when she was a little girl she was the disappointment of her mother and the delight of her father. When she was seven years old, she followed her three brothers out to be with them while they practiced with their bows. To get a good laugh, they decided to give her a bow and let her fail. Unfortunately for them, due to beginners luck she actually managed to hit it, and so they allowed her to continue to go with them, much to her mothers and sisters horror. It just wouldn't do, after all, to have their youngest daughter try to be such a boy in appearances. Still, despite that she implored to her father and was granted permission to do basically what she wanted. It was Iain that spent the most time with her, training her to use the bow and so she got the closest to him. When she was twelve years old, she felled a deer for a meal for important friends of her father. She came home waltzing proudly in front of her brothers carrying it, smudged with dirt and completely filthy, which caused her mother to finally snap. For the next four years of her life her mother went on a rigorous campaign to try and make her daughter into a lady. She never wanted to allow her to do the things she wanted, forced her to learn the proper social norms for a wealthy noble woman and what would be expected of her as a wife (causing Aleia to vow she would never be married), and all around suppressing her, much to Aleia's anger. Still, she rebelled against that, wearing pants when she could, hunting with her brothers, and running around Solitude. It was around that time that she was sent to the bards college to learn more than what the normal colleges could supply. While there, her brothers took care of her and she thrived. Despite her rebellious attitude, Aleia is intelligent and learned easily. When the war loomed on the horizon, Aleia began to worry of her family. She had trained into more of a lady, wearing dresses and keeping her hair up, but she never was able to quite get over her wild attitude. She would still rather ride horses, hunt and wrestle with her brothers, and has done both for quite some time - despite her mother and the other noble women looking down on her for it. And during that time, she started to receive proposals for marriage and rejected every one of them. Perhaps it was the strained relationship with her mother and her campaign to make her a lady that made her desire to never get married herself. It was when she was sixteen that her father got a palomino mare of good breeding for her to raise and train, which she did. She had never thought anything would happen to her family, however, until Iain decided to leave and support the Stormcloaks. Aleia begged him to stay, worried that despite his skills he would be killed, but he did leave. The next year of her life was lonely without her favorite brother, and she wrote to him as much as she could, though his letters were few due to his circumstances. She kept herself busy, however, training her mare and living her life. Soon her future will change dramatically from what she thought, however. PERSONALITY - Headstrong - Perhaps because of her father indulging her boyish habits, she's become strong willed and dislikes being told what to do or how to act. The rules that her mother and society has forced upon her just serves to make her more headstrong and have a sharp dislike for someone to force things or behaviors upon her. Intelligent - Coming from a wealthy family that appreciates education, Aleia has had just as much as any of her brothers, studying many books and reading nearly anything she can get her hands on. Charming - Despite being headstrong, no one would argue against the fact that Aleia is a charming young woman, especially when happy - which she is most of the time. She knows how to act around people, and though she doesn't enjoy society being like it is, most of the time she's a charming young woman that brings a smile to peoples faces. Free thinker - Perhaps because of her upbringing, how much she has read and how much she ponders, Aleia has different thoughts on the world and how she thinks. She doesn't like the strict rules on society, especially in view of women, and seeks to change things. Her brothers and father have encouraged her thinking for herself. Outspoken - Along with her free thinking is that Aleia likes to speak her mind. Usually she doesn't simply challenge those she respects or those older than her, but especially with those she feels comfortable with and those she views as being corrupt or unreasonable, she will say things she perhaps should not, much to her mothers disappointment. Curious - Her entire life she has been extremely curious and has a strong desire to learn. This has led her to read many books and figure things out for herself. This has led to problems when she becomes over curious and gets herself into trouble. Adventurous - Always having a thirst for adventure, Aleia has tagged along with her brothers for years and in that way has gotten to quell this a little tiny bit. Still, she yearns to see the rest of Skyrim and perhaps the rest of Tamriel. if there's action, she wants to be a part of it, and is very disappointed when she has to stay in the back and not be included in it. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,border-radius: 0px 0px 20px 20px;] Character Name. Aleia Snow-Proud Age. Nineteen Race. Nord Sexuality. Heterosexual Faction, Army, or Allegiance. Stormcloak Sympathizer Occupation. Noble woman Werewolf or Vampire. N/A Major Skills. Archery - Though by no means skilled with a blade, daggers, or anything of that sort, Aleia is highly skilled in her use of a bow. When a very young girl, she forced herself along with her brothers on their way to target practice one day. Her directly older brother Iain allowed her to come along, and even gave her a few pointers. Despite her mother attempting to discourage this behavior, Aleia was granted permission to go with her brothers by her father, and encouraged by each of her three older brothers to take up the bow and be able to defend herself despite the discouragement by her mother and older sister, as well as nearly every girl of equal status in Solitude. Twelve years later, she's practiced and practiced until she's gotten her skills to the point of besting even her brothers on occasion, having a keen eye and a steady hand. Speech - One doesn't grow up in a wealthy, influential family without learning every possible acceptable behavior and norm, as well as how to entertain company and even talk to them. With that as her background, despite her temper and tendency to speak her mind, Aleia is, under normal circumstances, a very charming young woman with a mind having a knack for intelligence and wit. Weapons, Armor, and Belongings. Ebony bow - Just as with her brothers, Aleia was given the gift of a beautifully crafted ebony bow that her father paid to have done for her, which was just about the most prized possession she has. If she could, Aleia would take this bow everywhere with her, but unfortunately it stays tucked away in her room until she either goes out of the city riding on her mare, or on a hunting trip with some of her brothers. Despite not being able to use it as much as she would like, however, Aleia has not lost any of the deadly accuracy that she has obtained and has even become adept at shooting off the back of her mare in various gaits. Horse - Truly a wild one at heart, Aleia begged to have a horse so she could go on further hunting trips with her brothers. Because he indulged her more boyish habits, Aleia was given a palomino filly to raise, the full sister of Iain's stallion. Thyra, as she's named her, is a young mare with excellent bloodlines and a heart willing to please her mistress. |
