FILLIM DRIFTWOOD

In his opinion, most out there are just out to pave their own way and run over anyone who happens to step in front of them, so he's chosen to, despite essentially taking a strong step away from typical society, take up something of the same attitude. Fillim is definitely not a guy who's going to step up to someone on the street and start a conversation. No, he'll stalk his way around and try his damnedest to avoid any sort of social interaction. If social interaction does come his way, his manner is cold and insulting. Fillim thinks he's simply reflecting the rest of the people in the world, and that it's a sort of payback for the life he's lived. He thinks of himself more than he really ought to. He's attempted to garner a reputation as a rather dangerous bandit (though he's not nearly as dangerous as he would like to think) solely for an interest in name recognition while earning the ire of most. In truth, his supposed intimidation isn't exactly at a point where he's going to be running off a well-trained soldier or anything of the sort, but in his mind, Fillim is a rather fearsome fellow whom no one should really consider as a safe person to be in the company of. He's bold and perhaps borderline stupid in some cases due to his need to, apparently, prove himself as a badass (my words, not his). Despite his opinion of the world and the people in it, Fillim is not particularly cruel. He will kill, yes, but only when he really has to and he's never particularly eager to do it. In fact, it bothers him more than he thinks it should. He would never, under any circumstances, consider extensively harming someone innocent, either. Fillim doesn't even admit to himself that he holds these sorts of somewhat noble reservations in the back of his mind. Chances are he would consider them as fake as he considers them to be in other people. It's a stunted development of his personality that's brought him to such a point, and he's not happy with much of anything about himself, though he still holds to his views of the world, of people, and of himself. ------------------------ History Born in Valenwood, Fillim would basically earn the surname he has accepted, "Driftwood," from a young age. He spent his first few years in the forests of his homeland rather irresponsibly, tending to be a self-made explorer with the other Bosmer children of his village, before his unmarried mother would move to Cyrodiil, and then eventually Skyrim, with an Imperial man that she became involved with. Fillim didn't care all particularly much for the move, but considering he was close with his mother, he agreed rather easily to the move. He would regret it in the near future, but at first, things didn't particularly change much. The father was not around overmuch, and Fillim, while lacking the number of friends from his home, still spent most of his days as the traditional Bosmer, out in the woods. It was when the Imperial man stripped his mother of all of the family's money that Fillim's life turned upside down. The man would be revealed to have been a member of the thieves guild all along. Fillim and his mother spent the next several years in traveling from place to place and scraping by with what help they could get (which was very little, due to present racism in Skyrim), leading to people referring to them both as "Driftwood," a name that stuck. They would fail to recover the money before the stress took its toll on Fillim's mother, and she passed away. Though the thieves guild did not fully condone the action the Imperial had taken, Fillim still solely blamed them as he found himself alone at the age of eighteen. For a time, he wandered and continued his attempts to maintain himself with the help of others and get the money back or repay the guild in some way, but reliance on others proved ineffective. Fillim broke off from society and decided to make it on his own, with his plans being to figure out how to damage the guild. Soon after, he was forced to kill in self-defense, an event that took place two more times afterwards. It was through the killing of a noble that Fillim would get some manner of name recognition, and he has somewhat grown into the role of a preying bandit. Recent attempts at gathering information have made him aware of a fellow wood elf within the ranks of the guild, and specifically the fact that he has a sister. Fillim has recently set out to begin his repayment to the guild for the death of his mother. |

Major Skills.
+Archery: Having grown up as a traditional Bosmer, and then been relegated to living off the hunter's paradise that Skyrim, Fillim has become a near-master of the bow, accurate from what could be considered a sniper's range and also quite skilled in close quarters with his bow, able to move and shoot in motion almost as if dueling with a bladed weapon.
+Destruction: Fillim is relatively well-versed in destruction magic, but not enough to avoid making him dangerous to generally anyone in addition to the person he's trying to fling his fireballs at. He's got power here and not much finesse.
+Sneak: Having learned to survive even when odds are considerably against him has very much taught Fillim the need to be careful and cautious at all times. He is almost unnervingly silent in motion, to the point where animals don't even seem to notice him most times. If he can ever sneak his way into success, he'll do it.
+One-Handed: Though he will use a bow if it's at all possible, Fillim isn't completely useless with one-handed weapons. He's sort of a cheap and dirty fighter in this manner, but he can hold his own pretty well in a straight duel from pure intensity. Again, finesse is lacking here.
+Lockpicking: Living off of his own means has led to his picking up the skill of lockpicking over time, though he's certainly not the best at this skill in all of Skyrim.
Weapons, Armor, and Belongings.
+Hunting Bow: A simple, older hunting bow that Fillim has had for some time. It has signs of wear and tear, but he's replaced the string on it several times and plans to keep using it.
+Glass Sword of Devouring: Obviously, Fillim didn't go out and purchase the rather fancy sword he carries with him. He got it off of a noble he killed. He does use it, but for the most part he drags it around in its sheath and usually waves it at people to intimidate them or some such. Only when caught in a straight fight will he use it.
+Iron Dagger: Strictly a backup and utility weapon that Fillim uses to skin things, cut away branches, and the like.
+Foroch: A hawk that Fillim has trained and that shadows him at almost all times. Foroch is not a particularly aggressive hawk, planning to dive into battle to aid his master, but he does know how to carry messages and find things for Fillim.
