All of these rumors about dragons has Bathelie a little worried but more excited than anything. This entire civil war deal was getting too dull for her tastes and she was glad to see something interesting might happen. The archer feels total pity for any dragons that might try to attack the city of the Empire. Solitude has some of the best soldiers she has ever known and they are more than prepared to deal with any dragons. Bathelie wiped sweat from her brows as she pounded the dagger against the anvil as she continued her smith training.
This has been her routine for the pass few years and she had a good and solid routine down too. Bathelie tuck the dagger away with the other finish weapons as she found her mentor. "Hey... I am going to go on my patrol so I will be back later." she announced her exit before she left. Adjusting the hunting bow on her shoulder she moved to the streets of Solitude. Her usual duties just consisted of patrolling the streets of the city and make sure the law is being kept and none being broken.
Bathelie sighed as she stopped and looked around to see things looking decent though looks can be deceiving. A smile crossed her lips as children ran by her playing tag and running around with each other. Her smile slowly faded as her eyes moved down to the ground as she notice a darken ground beneath her. A moment later the sound of flapping wings hit her ears as she looked up and her eyes slightly widened. That was when she saw the source of the shadow and it was massive. "D-Dragon..."she whispered as she drew her bow and pulled back an arrow before it flew toward the dragon.

NO LIGHT IN YOUR BRIGHT BLUE EYES Sapphire was supposed to be out of Solitude by now. She should have been long gone. She should have been at the shrine to Meridia by now. Why wasn't she? The Legion had been combing Solitude's streets for some Stormcloak scout. She had been lying low at the Winking Skeever. Some stupid scout had slipped up during his time within the city, so now he was making things too risky for her to leave. The problem was soon they would be looking for her. In fact she was certain that if she was detained for questioning that even once they found that she was not the Stormcloak scout, they would turn her in to their superiors for a different reason entirely. That was why Sapphire wasn't testing her luck. She was just minding her own business, and making herself scarce. Hopefully Ulfric's men had not decided that she wasn't coming, and left the shrine. She was just waiting for the opportune moment to flee. You'd think that sneaking would be easy for her, and it was, but not so much during the middle of the day. It was obvious that she had no business in Solitude. She had completed her job the night before, but since the Stormcloak had gotten them riled up it hadn't been a good idea to try and get out of the city. Imperial soldiers had been marching the streets looking for the scout, and the last time she had dared look, they still were.
She had been boarded up in her room. She had only dared venture out when the tavern was loud, but loud with cheer and drunks, not Imperial soldiers. She had considered climbing out of her window a few times, but that would have looked suspicious. Sapphire had done her very best naive girl impression upon meeting the barkeep, and it had seemed to work pretty well. She certainly wasn't suspected of anything yet, but out there the Imperials would't have been so easy to fool. She was a woman traveling alone, and the Empire was already looking for her. She wasn't sure if they knew what they were looking for or not yet, but she was just buying her time until it was either safe, or she had an opportunity to make a break for it. She hadn't expected that opportunity to come now. Instead she had just been hoping that the night was quiet enough for her to get by the city walls unnoticed, and slip into the wilderness. She wasn't going to risk the roads again. Common bandits were a lot easier to dispose of then well trained Imperial soldiers with the fancy armour and gear and what-not.
She had been pacing silently around her room when the screaming and shouting started. A bewildered Sapphire trotted down the steps, and leaned into the main area of the tavern. She was just in time for a terrified man to run in and start shouting about a dragon. There was a dragon attack in Solitude. A dragon was attacking <i>now</i>. Sapphire couldn't have wished for better luck. What was one tiny thief to a massive dragon? She was certain that she could get by unnoticed. This was exactly the distraction that she needed to leave this city. Sapphire ran back up the steps, and gathered her things. She yanked her cloak on, and made sure that she wasn't leaving anything behind. A coin purse was on her table. It was a gift from the Imperial that she had wronged the night before. Of course he had no idea that he had given it to her, and he probably wouldn't be missing it where he was going. She grabbed the purse, and headed back down a final time. She dropped the coin purse on the bar, and clasped her cloak around her neck.
The barkeep had tried to talk her out of leaving. The inn was piling up with frightened citizens, and she had been assured that it was dangerous out there. The small woman was more afraid of the consequences of staying, so she simply thanked him. Sapphire didn't heed his warnings. She left the tavern, and tugged her hood over her face. They were too busy now to notice a small woman wandering through the streets of Solitude. She could practically dance her way out of Solitude, and no one would even notice her. Of course that was how she was feeling until a young Imperial soldier ran smack into her. She tried to jump out of the way, but he had came around the corner so fast. She hadn't seen him quickly enough to dodge him. The man was frantic, he was blubbering apologies, and he scrambled to his feet, grabbing up the spear and shield he had dropped on the impact. He helped her to her feet, then drug her with her. Sapphire stubbornly planted her feet in refusal, but the soldier insisted she come with him for safety.
Steam was practically rolling out of her ears. This was not how she had wanted things to go. She had fussed at the soldier, but he had insisted. He had sucked her right into the middle of the Imperials preparing for the dragon attack. The only thing that she had going for her was the fact that the dragon was currently the priority. Once the soldier decided that the damsel he had knocked onto her arse was safe, he headed off to see where he could help. The dragon was close, so the preparations were hasty. Not to be deterred from her plan, Sapphire quietly began to inch her way toward the wall. Surely they wouldn't close the gate. Fighting a dragon within city walls would be a mistake. They needed to march out if they wanted to do this with the least amount of casualties and property damage capable. Even Sapphire was aware of that, and she didn't know much of anything about fighting in a group.
Sapphire was nearly home free when she spotted the female archer (Bathelie). Sapphire was now not only trying to hide from the Imperials and city guards who were moving in to attack, but also the dragon who was closing in on the city. Sapphire wasn't sure what good a few archers were going to do, so she moved to a place near the Nord woman, but still out of the way. A sharp whistle rang out as Sapphire tried to get the woman's attention. She reached into her pouch, and pulled out a small vial of potent poison. What she was about to suggest wasn't really its intended purpose, but it would help get the job done. Sapphire would have contributed to the battle, even though she should have just let the dragon burn the city to the ground, and she would have done her good deed for the day. "Yellow-mane!" She spoke, trying to get the woman's attention. If the Nord wasn't interested in her plan then Sapphire would just find another archer to carry it out. It was a good plan. It would work. It wouldn't kill the dragon, but it would certainly weaken it. Sapphire was sure of it. WORDS 1,205 TAGGED SOLITUDE DRAGON ATTACK NOTES LALALALALA TEMPLATE BY WE WERE INFINITE ! OF CAUTIO 2.0

Senex could say he was quite proud of Lydia after her first trip on the Ardent. She hadn’t yet bludgeoned any of the crew nor Senex himself. He counted their health a small victory, considering how she’d reacted to being on a boat on the seas.
A wide, absent smile remained on his face as he trudged into Solitude from the docks, turning back to make sure the last of the men were fully securing the Ardent to sit in the dock for a few days. Such idleness from the seas would probably please the raven-haired housecarl coming along with them, who was likely praising the presence of the actual ground underneath her feet. His gaze settled on that housecarl as he began to turn back. ”I can’t help but hope you’ll now see why a lady needs to be tied from time to time,” he said to her, teasingly, earning a strange look from one of the crewmembers who was passing by and who was far too young to fully understand Senex’s meaning behind the words, but it was likely best that he didn’t. Thus far, the crew hadn’t been immensely pesky in their noticing that of all people, Senex would be assigned a female housecarl who happened to be as true a Nord as Skyrim would ever see. His threats to keep all the brandy and mead locked away from them if they spoke too much seemed to have done the trick.
”Do you hear anything strange?”, one crewmember up ahead said as they all approached the entrance to Solitude. Senex’s smile fell slightly as he turned his attention from Lydia to listening, angling his ear away from the wind. ”You’ve been on the sea too long, Free-Ember,” Senex replied to the Nord. ”You can’t accept silence for silence.” Senex would have thought that would settle the matter, but one of the women pointed up ahead at the entrance. ”Why are the guards gone?” The thane squint his eyes to either side of Solitude’s entrance. Surely enough, the woman proved to be right. Where there were typically two guards flanking either side of the lofty walls of Solitude, no one stood. He slowed to a stop, triggering all the rest of the crew to do the same. They listened again. This time, Senex could hear it – screams. Some…horrible noise that he was unfamiliar with accompanied those screams on occasion. Something horribly wrong was taking place in Solitude.
”…Come with me,” Senex finally told them, parting the crew as he stepped between them and led the way to the gate. A crew of fifteen, not counting the men back at the ship, could do very little should some horror be waged against Solitude, but curiosity would have them approach the city nonetheless. Senex reached the doors and pushed the rightmost one open, and the sight ahead of him was far from the band of Stormcloaks that he expected to see. No, Stormcloaks had not yet sprouted wings nor covered themselves in scales. Solitude had come under dragon attack.
A chorus of surprise rang out from his crew as they entered one by one, a woman from within the city pushing past them to try and escape from the beast. Senex paused long, listening to the chatter of the crew, before he audibly freed his sword from its sheath. ”Fit arrows if you have them,” he said to the crew, a few of them giving gasps in surprise to hear that they were to be helping in the fight while the others moved to follow the order. Senex turned slowly to Lydia, a small smirk finding its way to his features in spite of his concern. ”I suppose you now have a way to relieve your stresses from your first experience with sailing. You and I will stay close and cover the archers.” His eyes returned to the dragon. ”Let that creature know of our presence, men! Spread out and let loose!” And they would do just that, as Senex moved forward to accompany them and the guards so nobly protecting their home city. The beast would regret the day it had targeted Solitude.

They were alive and on dry land.
Lydia didn’t think she had ever been so happy about being on dry ground in her life. It was on shaky legs that she followed the Thane up the docks and toward the city of Solitude. She hadn’t ever liked Solitude, feeling she was too close to the Imperial army, trying to make Skyrim into another Cyrodiil. Right now, however, Lydia wasn’t feeling particularly picky about where she was, as long as she was off the damned Ardent, and hopefully would stay off it for some time. If she wasn’t so sure that she could get back up after doing so, she would be kneeling and thanking Talos for getting her off the ship she had been stuck on the last few weeks. Of all the people in the world…of all of them, Balgruuf had to play the biggest practical joke on her and make her the Housecarl of a previous ship’s captain, particularly one that decided to tie her up in order to get things done. And the only reason she hadn’t killed anyone on that ship – Senex included – was because she’d been slightly afraid he would suggest he tie her up again. And if there was something she hated worse than sailing, it was being tied up. Though she had to admit, being tied up by Senex was far better than many others that could be doing it. That, however, wasn’t proper thoughts for a Housecarl.
Was it?
At that exact moment, he decided to comment on it. Lydia’s dark eyes flickered from Senex, to the crewmember that gave him a funny look. Hesitating a moment, she finally sighed. “I’ll bet that whelp goes to ask someone else what you meant.”, she commented, turning her neck to glance over her shoulder at the young crew member that had done the looking. That was all she needed, everyone thinking her and her Thane had become…closer. Being sworn to carry burdens didn’t mean she had to have a child too! Did it? Talos help her…
Still, she forced a returning smile on her face – dampened by the fact that she still felt queasy from her time on the rocking ship – and shuffled along behind him, not wanting to pick up her feet before she really knew that she wouldn’t fall on her face. She had figured by now she would be used to being on a ship, but she still had not. And so she nearly ran into Senex, dutifully walking behind him, before she realized that he had stopped. In the end, she managed to twist away and only bump him with her arm. “Sorry.”, she said, before noticing that the crew around her, as well as her Thane, seemed to have their ears peeled on something.
Turning her own head to the side, Lydia caught the same sounds as everyone else. Nearly instantly she froze, a hand going to the sword sheathed on her side. And while Senex talked with his men, her dark eyes were flickering around to see if she could spot anything out of the ordinary. All of a sudden her legs felt a lot less shaky as well. She would like to rip a few heads off of someone for what she’d just gone through the last few days.
Unfortunately, she hadn’t expected a dragon to be the thing she would be ripping a head off of. With a look of pure surprise, she slowly slid her sword back into its sheath on her hips, but followed after her Thane and his men when he started through the gate. The woman that ran to escape ran into Lydia square in the chest. Despite her shaky legs, Lydia didn’t budge, but watched the woman stagger back, before picking herself back up and running away again. Shaking her head, Lydia released her grip on her sword handle and shifted to instead take the bow from off her back, before notching an arrow and nodding to Senex. He wasn’t kidding she finally had something to take her anger out on… Instead of answering him, though, Lydia once more moved after him when he moved away, all the while studying the dragon that was attacking.
Talos wasn’t kind to her today. {NOTES} She's so happy |

So normally Zaexii wouldn't spend any time lingering in a city. Especially when her horse, Zet, was being kept at the stables. Then again, this wasn't the most simplest of contracts; it required a higher level of stealth, which was why the dunmer was chosen. Nobody paid attention to her at it was, so it fit perfectly. She'd been stuck in the city for two days now. Having just killed the poor soul whose fate was chosen once the black sacrement was made, the youthful elf was now making her way down the streets, hood pulled up, gaze forward. As per usual, nobody noticed her; her pace quickened. She hated travelling during the day, but she was getting antsy. Two days in a heavily populated area had shot her nerves to hell. She seriously despised crowds. Nothing could be done about that, though. This happened to be one of the largest cities in Skyrim.
She passed down to the market place of the city. Even more people were here, making a scowl of distaste cross her dark-skinned face. She shifted the bow that was slung across her back- the enchantment flared to life for a brief amount of time, dark orange embers flickering across the glass surface of the weapon. She saw it out of the corner of her eye and smiled. That bow never failed her. It had been her father's, and it's shot was as true for her as it had been for him. A guard passed close to her and she quickly side-stepped, throwing him a dirty look. He completely ignored her. Imperials.
Her gaze lifted when she heard a sharp gasp from some girl. It was another guard, so for a second, she almost dismissed it; then suddenly her whole frame was cloaked in shadow. A huge dark shape passed from overhead, and once she heard the wings, her blood ran cold. She didn't have to look up to know what it was; she was spurred into motion seconds before the earth-shattering roar erupted around her ears. She quickly jumped up and climbed up a ledge, running up a path that took her to higher ground. Close to the Castle Dour, where that idiot Tullius took refuge, she crouched into the shadows and pulled out her bow.
Normally she'd just grab her horse and run. But the prospect of bringing down a dragon and having that title following her around well, it was very pleasing. Even if she was just going to boast it to her family back in Falkreath Hold. Her eyes narrowed upon the winged creature as it circled overhead, fitting an arrow upon the string and smoothly pulling it back, waiting for an opportunity. From the corners of her eyes she could see plenty of people doing the same. Idly, she wondered how many of them were strong enough to withstand the dragon's firey breath.
She could only guess how many would fall. She took a private bet with herself that none of the whimpy Imperial Guards would survive. They'd be the first to charge, the first to die. Which was fine by her. The creature wouldn't even notice her presence with all of the idiots running around waving their swords at him. She fell into stillness, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. tagged .
