FARKAS
ankh, 26, too much
His early childhood years are cloudy, and now since Jergen's passing, there is nobody else who knows the tale of the two twin boys prior to Jergen's intervention with the Necromancers. The day they were saved is the first day Farkas can recall in his memory. They were young when Jergen found them -- barely six years old and wandering the countryside for some reason Farkas cannot recall. But the first face he remembers aside from Vilkas is the face of the Necromancer that was bringing attack upon he and his brother. As young pups, they were unable and did not possess the know-how to remove themselves from the sticky situation and it was not until Jergen's intervention that the boys were safe. Jergen was a man of few words, but strong opinions on things. As such, when he rescued the twins from the band of Necromancers and had very little information regarding their past, he wanted one thing: He wanted the twins to be raised as Companions. Jergen himself was a Companion and it was during one of his quests for the Companions that he ran across them and believed it was divine intervention. Thus, he took Vilkas and Farkas to Jorrvaskr where they spent their formative years. It was not an easy transition for Farkas, who always seemed to miss the family he could never remember, but he made a conscious effort to take the new scenery with optimism and kindness and fit in fairly easily in the hall. As the twins grew up, it became clear that it was Vilkas who possessed the knowledge and Farkas who possessed the muscle. While his brother was often the one to make opinions on things, Farkas was more than happy to share in his brother's opinions simply because Vilkas was his brother and the closest person to him in the world. For some time during his adolescence, this became a point of concern for Farkas. While his brother was debating politics or ostracizing newcomers, Farkas preferred to be on the practice grounds slaughtering dummies or warmly greeting newcomers and getting to know them. For a time, he believed himself to be inferior to Vilkas in many ways and became a recluse in his shell, focusing solely on his offensive battle tactics. It was later in life -- after the passing or Jergen -- when Farkas realized his potential as a philanthropist. Jergen had been a much loved member of the Companions and his death brought about a deep kind of grief to Jorrvaskr. While all were sunken in their sorrows, it was Farkas who stood up and made rounds to his friends, sitting with them quietly or talking about happy memories of Jergen. It was Farkas who brought food and drink to those most depressed by the loss and unable to get out of bed. It was Farkas who brought kind and comforting remarks to the wounded souls of Jorrvaskr. And he was happy to do so. His own grief was mitigated by his ability to bring happiness to others. Truly, the happiness of others is the one thing Farkas holds paramount to himself. Not long after Jergen's death, Kodlak pulled Farkas aside, desiring a conversation with him. It was during this time that he thanked Farkas for reaching out to those who were in their time of need. It was this conversation that praised Farkas for being a loyal friend and Shield-Brother to all. It was this conversation when Farkas began to value himself equal to his brother and realize that while he may not be interested in politics and the like, his own interest in the human psyche and interpersonal relationships was something to be valued. His ease expressing himself with the spoken word was, as Kodlak described, something all should desire. Through his time with the Companions, Farkas has become a valuable asset to Jorrvaskr. His skill in battle and his uncanny ability to improve all varieties of armor is his tangible skill for the Companions. Over time, he was initiated into the Inner Circle and given the Beast Blood in honor -- a trait he is still morally ambiguous about. Despite his intimidating appearance, Farkas is the more kind-hearted of the two twins. He genuinely enjoys the company of others and getting to know them and their nuances and what makes them tick. Compared to his brother who is quite logically minded, Farkas' preference for human psychology and interpersonal relationships can cause him to look quite simple-minded. And to an extent, that may be true. Farkas does not understand why the world is warring over a God. He does not care to. He does not understand underhanded political motivations. He has no desire to. Farkas prefers to stick with what and who he knows and enjoys. He is a playful and optimistic person with a bright sense of humor and an easygoing demeanor. Any friend of the Companions is a friend of Farkas and once a friend, always a friend. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,border-radius: 0px 0px 20px 20px;] Character Name. Farkas Age. 31 Race. Nord Sexuality. Demisexual Faction, Army, or Allegiance. The Companions Inner Circle Occupation. Heavy Armor Trainer High-Ranking Member of Inner Circle Werewolf or Vampire. Werewolf Major Skills. One Handed: Farkas prefers to wield only one blade per hand, optimizing his potential for movement and speed that cannot be gleaned from a dual-handed blade. Heavy Armor: Because of his height and weight, Farkas is able to wear heavy armor without a problem. And if one is capable of not being slowed down by heavy armor, the benefits to wearing it outweigh the drawbacks. Smithing: Although he is not in the habit of making his own armor, he does improve upon what he already has. He learned smithing at a young age, but does not often find the time to forge an entirely new set. Lockpicking: On the quests he and his Shield-Siblings embark upon, there are often locked doors. In order to get the most benefit, those doors need unlocked. Through his time with the Companions, Farkas has learned how to pick a lock quietly and quickly. Sneak: Again, moving with the Companions taught him stealth. In order to be victorious over enemies, it is often necessary to catch them off guard. While Farkas is a decent sneak, his size makes him slightly less apt to be undetected than others. Stamina: Farkas can run forever. Or close to. He is not winded easily and can do physically exhausting and strenuous work for hours without fatigue. Weapons, Armor, and Belongings. Wolf Armor Steel Sword Hunting Bow [Nord Arrows] |
