Astrid had only gotten this contract mere hours before, but the job had been so alluring that she had made plans to kill the contracts nearly immediately. She had also decided after their last contract together, that she would love to join her husband on yet another contract. Still, because of how many there were - and the potential threat of the contractors themselves if they decided to turn on herself and her husband made her choose yet another assassin to join them - one of the newer recruits. Despite only recently being recruited, she had already earned a fairly sizable name for herself in Astrid's watch. Though perhaps not as much of a name as the members of the Dark Brotherhood that had been there for some time longer, but by far enough to earn her a place along with them.
The gatekeeper had been easy, so much so, that Astrid thought a baby could get past her. Clothed in her shrouded armor, it had been the same as if slipping past a blind man. Their contract was simple. Go in, destroy a Thalmor by the name of Arcano and his group before they could siege something of great importance, and leave as few bodies as possible behind, along with no evidence of who had contracted them for this. Simple enough, and here Astrid had actually been hoping for a real challenge. So now they were easily walking up the grand marble pathway to reach the college where they were supposed to be able to find the Thalmor that they needed to exterminate.
Interesting. Thalmor - or perhaps previous Thalmor since their endeavor of being crazy - asking for other Thalmor to be hunted down and exterminated? Yes...yes it was interesting. Still, she asked no questions, but accepted it as she always had. The Dark Brotherhood had been suffering recently, no one had to tell her that, but she meant to recreate it in all its former glory, one step, or stab, at a time. It only took better contracts such as this one to be able to do so. The Thalmor were a powerful group, but Astrid wasn't worried about the Dark Brotherhood being exterminated the way the Blades had. Though not bragging about your exploits may at times be frustrating, it kept them alive. Besides...their handywork did the bragging for them. Perhaps with a big job like this, they would get more large contracts. Perhaps it was somewhat morbid to wish to be able to kill someone, but Astrid had a few targets she would like to make an attempt at. The queen...or even Ulfric or Elenwen. Despite favoring the Nords, Astrid didn't take a side other than the Brotherhood. Whatever would make them prosper more...she would do.
"We strike fast, but feel free to...elaborate.", she said with a wicked grin on her face, addressing both her husband and the third party. "I want all of Tamriel to know it was the Brotherhood that did this, so make your mark however you desire.", she said in a muffled voice while they came closer and closer to the courtyard that opened up to allow them entrance to the inner areas. "Aside from that, no needless killing as our contract has asked, and keep your eyes open for their double crossing. I expect them to do so, so to be prepared for it now will mean we aren't overwhelmed." Astrid knew Arnbjorn would know, but the new one...she needed to cover the bases with her. {NOTES} I always hate my starters |

She didn't really know Astrid that well- she got most of her contracts from Nazir, after all- but Arnbjorn had been the one to recruit her in the first place. She wasn't nervous, nor particularly excited- it was just another job, at another day. Her surprise she tucked away after mulling over it for a little while, but otherwise, she was just doing what she did best- killing.
... That sounded really terrible, but it really was what she did best, except for maybe being invisible. But being invisible helped her successfully kill without being caught, so they basically went hand in hand. Regardless, there she was, sneaking towards the College alongside Astrid and Arnbjorn. Her shrouded armor was silent as always, comfortable on her back, with her dagger sheathed at her hip and her bow strapped across her back. Her pointed ears flicked, listening to her leader's whispered words; she glanced over occasionally, but her eyes were continuously roving around.
She mentioned a warning about double crossing. The contract was by Thalmor, to kill Thalmor. It could only be assumed that they were going to have them kill this Arcano character, and then kill them and blame it all on them. It would be the perfect cover up, for them, at the very least- though the dark elf doubted that they would succeed in any attempts on the three. They were all professionals, though she much less than they- and they all (figuratively) had managed to procure eyes in the backs of their heads. There was no way they were going to be getting the best of them.
So when Astrid mentioned the warning, Zaexii's eyes darted over to her; she waited until Astrid made eye contact before giving her a curt nod to let her know that she heard. She wasn't one for words, and it would be shocking if any of the Brotherhood could recognize her through her voice, it was so rarely heard. Then her eyes returned to scouting the area, her movements silent, fluid, and relaxed.</div><div style="font-family:CENTURY GOTHIC; font-color:#111111; font-size:11px; text-align:center; line-height:90%; letter-spacing:2px; text; text-transform: lowercase; background: #637783;"> tagged . |
